Goodbye Maggie

We have 3 very sad children tonight, along with mom and dad.

Maggie was our first child, the one we practiced all our parenting techniques on (they didn't work on her either). She was very patient with her humans and very good to the kids once they came. Maggie didn't like getting relagated to the backyard, but was happy to play with the kids there. She has trained 2 puppies for us, hopefully her parenting techniques work!

Goodbye Maggie, we will miss you.

Yes, I cried like the baby I am when I took her to the vet. It was sooooooo much harder than I ever imagined! I will miss Maggie...she was awesome!

Ohhhh, that is so sweet/sad. I hope the kids do ok in the next few days. I hope the two of you don't have too hard of a time with it! Good thing you have another dog around so it's not too quiet out back! I know it's not the same, but at least there's some black fur out there!

It is hard to let a loved one go. We have a very dear friend that has had three dogs put down in the ten years that we've known her, and they finally dedicated a pet cemetary in her honor at the local funeral home. It was very bittersweet, but nice to know that the world can accept pets as part of a family!

Maggie was a great dog. She was one of the only ones I ever liked. Sorry to hear she's gone.

Ok, let me try that post again. I could not even read it!! We lost our beloved black lab, Buster, 1 year ago to lymphoma. He was only 6 but this is the age when labs tend to get it even though he was a mixed breed. I took Darin and Dylan with me as I knew I would never have left the vet hospital. I just held him and cried like a baby for about an hour. He now is in a lovely cherry wood urn on top of the TV-we just cannot bring ourselves to bury Buster:(
